Apatura ilia ([Denis et Schiffermüller], 1775)

Rather common (even within the city) but rarely numerous. Reddish form (clythie) is more common. Females rarely seen. One generation, June - July. (Some years partial second generation in August.)

Early/late dates: June 7 - August 30.

Habitat: woodland openings and edges, parks.
